Insurance of any kind can be a tremendous benefit for anyone, especially those with more complicated ailments. In fact, if you are working, have a car, have a home or whatever and you don’t have insurance then I invite you to click here and get that squared away.

As with most things of this nature, it is always prudent to keep careful documentation – not just of your insurance forms but of your doctor visits as well; especially when it comes to health insurance.

There was an incident (names of people and places are being withheld for obvious reasons) where a woman who signed up for health insurance was almost denied by her provider. It all started when she applied for health insurance and was accepted and then, literally, a week later found out from the doctor that she had breast cancer. Good thing she got that health insurance, right? Except that the people at her provider tried to accuse her of omitting her breast cancer when signing up.

Want to know what saved the day? A call to the doctor who kept careful records and could vouch for her, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that she could not have possibly known about the breast cancer prior to signing up for the insurance.

Cases like these are rare, but it always pays to err on the side of caution. Keep proper documentation of anything related to your medical history. You never know when it could come in handy.
